Project Life - Weeks...well a lot of them

Project Life
I have been struggling a bit.
I work full-time and I do not take my camera with me to work
so I rely on my iPhone for most of my pics from 9-5 Mon-Fri.
Unfortunately, I get super busy at work and forget...
Then I get home thinking to myself no worries i'll take a bunch of pics of Jake
tonight when I get home...

Well...this is a typical night at home...
Race in the door from work, pee, stuff food in my mouth,
fight with my son for two hours over homework,
spend another 1 1/2 doing said homework,
throw in a load of laundry,
spend another 1/2 hour to get Jake in the shower,
go through the mail, walk the dog,
stay up late for "me time", then finally crash.

Doesn't make for a lot of stuff to put in my Project Life book :(
So I end up scrambling to take a bunch of pics in what seems like
a limited amount of time just to have something to add to each week.
BUT...I have been doing it and I am EXCITED that I have been doing it.
I realized just recently that putting the good, the bad and even the ugly
(homework nights!) in Project Life is really our true story.
It's real life and twenty years from now it will still be real and I will love it!
So if you are struggling to take pics NO WORRIES...fill it in with other things...
In the big scheme of things what you do add you will cherish in twenty years from now.
I know I will...

So here is SEVERAL (long overdue) weeks worth of Project Life!
Oh and another struggle I have...
Taking pics of each of the weeks that I have done...
I have the crappiest lighting in my house and I can NEVER get a good shot
but I'm winging it...So here goes :)

So I will leave you with these and hopefully
I will be able to stay on top of the upcoming weeks.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Thanks for stopping by :)

The little things

The past few days have been about the
little things...
Which have gone really well with my
"one little word 2012"
simplify.

Enjoyed a great relaxing weekend with the family.
Took down the rest of the xmas directions.
Got the house back into order (somewhat).
Caught up on TiVo (OMG...I had a ton of stuff to watch!)
And the dreaded laundry...blah

And something I am ecstatic about...

I was on the waiting list for Karen Russell's photography class
and this past week received an email from her that
a few openings had come available!!!!!
I about jumped out of my skin when I read it.
I couldn't type my information in to register quick enough!
REALLY.REALLY.EXCITED.ABOUT.THIS!!!

I have been wanting to take her class for sometime now
and the opportunity finally came around!
The class starts tomorrow and I feel like I am
back in elementary school...
Have been getting all my "supplies" together
reviewing all the information on her site..
Yep. Quite excited!

Which will help me take MUCH better photos for
Project Life.
I am almost finished with 2011 and
started Week 1 of 2012.
On another note....
I have been stalking this site
and for xmas I ordered this....

I.AM.IN.LOVE!
It's exactly what I had been wanting/hoping for.
It's beautiful even my husband loved it.
On the front I have my son's name and
on the back it says 'my love'.

Check out her site I am sure you will fall in love just as I did :)

Thanks for stopping by
and I hope you all have a wonderful week :)

Simplify & Project Life

Happy New Year!
This is the year that I simplify things.

Simplify = My word for this year.
I've never participated in the "One Little Word 2012"
but for some reason this year it seemed a good time to try.
I chose simplify to remind myself everyday that I can
still do the things that are important and I know that life
is hectic but I can still simplify things and enjoy life.

Another thing that I started this year was Project Life
this has been such a blessing for me.
I dove in head first and haven't looked back.
I did all of 2011 in 5 weeks! Yep...5 weeks!
It has been LIBERATING!!!
I have an entire year of pictures in an album!
The guilt has been lifted.
I'm not feeling the stress to make all these
elaborate pages which half the time I am only
using one or two pictures per layout.
I still have a few things to complete throughout the album.
This weekend I plan on finishing all the journaling.

So I thought I would show you how it turned out.
I love the simplicity of it and I have turned a few friends onto it also.
It seriously has been a joy to work with!
Some of it is basic and some of it I added a little extra.
I hope you enjoy it :)

So it still needs a little work but I am pretty happy with it.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Hope you all have a wonderful happy, healthy New Year!

Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Joy

These are the things that are making
me incredibly happy and thankful these days :)

Jake performed in his very first band concert this past week.
It was the Winter Concert and my heart
just busted with joy watching him play!
He was amazing :) So proud of him!

And this...
Jake made the "A" Honor Roll and
we just got his certificate yesterday!
SO SO SO very proud of him!

And this is just making me happy!
I have been stalking Becky Higgins website for
quite some time now debating on whether
or not to get Project Life...
I was nervous about getting because
I have NEVER been a simple scrapper
and I really thought this kit was more basic
and for beginners...
Uhhhh...can I say...LOVE.LOVE.LOVE!

It is EXACTLY what I have been needing to
get a kick in the butt to get my pictures into
an album! It's simple, it's fun and most
of all it's taking away the guilt I have been
hanging onto with all my pics either being
stuck on the computer or stuffed in a box!
Truly.Love.This.Kit!

Already started using it and not done yet...
still going to add other stuff to it...
but off to a great start!
Thank you Becky!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish
all of you a blessed and Happy Holiday
whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah
or another holiday I hope you have a
wonderful time with your families :)

Feeling Inspired...

This is the first year in a very long time that I
am REALLY feeling the whole Christmas vibe.
Every year I feel that I am struggling to keep my
head above water to get everything done.
This year I made a HUGE effort to get ahead
and I have to tell you that I am loving it!

I did my decorations early this year and
I just have a few small things left to buy.
FEELING.REALLY.GOOD.RIGHT.NOW!!
Not to mention that I have been cranking the
holiday music this year in my car...
Yep I am the crazy blonde singing her little
heart out to xmas tunes while driving! LOL

Anyways.... I found this blog
by Linda Cain
SHE.IS.AMAZING!!!!
I fell in love with her work especially
her holiday tags.
And I had to re-create the one that she did.

This is my version...
This tag just SCREAMED to me
Merry Christmas!
And I learned a couple of really cool techniques.
So check out her blog I am sure you will love it!

And a few pics from around the house...

Thanks for stopping by!!
Have a great weekend!

A few new things...

It always amazes me how I blink
and the holidays are
RIGHT.AROUND.THE.CORNER!
I always say every year that I am
going to start my shopping early
I am going to do things around
my house that have been neglected.
I am going to put up my decorations early.
I am going to make my christmas cards early.
Mail the cards out early.
And once again...I AM NOT EARLY!!

I feel behind on everything!

So today I took a few minutes to create
sort of "a beginning xmas list"
and ordered a few things online.
It wasn't much...
but I feel MUCH BETTER already!
Not to mention Black Friday...
I will be the crazy one getting up at
stupid o'clock to shop...

And as I do every year...
I will get through this one too :)

So enough blabbering....
and on to the good stuff....

This is ONE thing that I had a jumpstart on for the holidays...

This one I did to hang up during the holidays this year...
The picture is of my son from a trip that we took

I adore this picture of him and knew right away
that I wanted to use it on this project :)

So today kinda got off to a rough start...
Until about 5:00 when I came home to
three lovely little boxes at my front door :)
DAY.GOT.MUCH.MUCH.BETTER!

I am locking myself away in my office tonight
and playing with all my new goodies :)

Doesn't take much to make me happy ;)
