Holiday Joy

These are the things that are making
me incredibly happy and thankful these days :)

Jake performed in his very first band concert this past week.
It was the Winter Concert and my heart
just busted with joy watching him play!
He was amazing :) So proud of him!

And this...
Jake made the "A" Honor Roll and
we just got his certificate yesterday!
SO SO SO very proud of him!

And this is just making me happy!
I have been stalking Becky Higgins website for
quite some time now debating on whether
or not to get Project Life...
I was nervous about getting because
I have NEVER been a simple scrapper
and I really thought this kit was more basic
and for beginners...
Uhhhh...can I say...LOVE.LOVE.LOVE!

It is EXACTLY what I have been needing to
get a kick in the butt to get my pictures into
an album! It's simple, it's fun and most
of all it's taking away the guilt I have been
hanging onto with all my pics either being
stuck on the computer or stuffed in a box!
Truly.Love.This.Kit!

Already started using it and not done yet...
still going to add other stuff to it...
but off to a great start!
Thank you Becky!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish
all of you a blessed and Happy Holiday
whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah
or another holiday I hope you have a
wonderful time with your families :)

Feeling Inspired...

This is the first year in a very long time that I
am REALLY feeling the whole Christmas vibe.
Every year I feel that I am struggling to keep my
head above water to get everything done.
This year I made a HUGE effort to get ahead
and I have to tell you that I am loving it!

I did my decorations early this year and
I just have a few small things left to buy.
FEELING.REALLY.GOOD.RIGHT.NOW!!
Not to mention that I have been cranking the
holiday music this year in my car...
Yep I am the crazy blonde singing her little
heart out to xmas tunes while driving! LOL

Anyways.... I found this blog
by Linda Cain
SHE.IS.AMAZING!!!!
I fell in love with her work especially
her holiday tags.
And I had to re-create the one that she did.

This is my version...
This tag just SCREAMED to me
Merry Christmas!
And I learned a couple of really cool techniques.
So check out her blog I am sure you will love it!

And a few pics from around the house...

Thanks for stopping by!!
Have a great weekend!

A few new things...

It always amazes me how I blink
and the holidays are
RIGHT.AROUND.THE.CORNER!
I always say every year that I am
going to start my shopping early
I am going to do things around
my house that have been neglected.
I am going to put up my decorations early.
I am going to make my christmas cards early.
Mail the cards out early.
And once again...I AM NOT EARLY!!

I feel behind on everything!

So today I took a few minutes to create
sort of "a beginning xmas list"
and ordered a few things online.
It wasn't much...
but I feel MUCH BETTER already!
Not to mention Black Friday...
I will be the crazy one getting up at
stupid o'clock to shop...

And as I do every year...
I will get through this one too :)

So enough blabbering....
and on to the good stuff....

Happy Halloween!

Decided to take the day off from work today
since the boy was out off of school today.
It was great just to relax and hang out together.
So since I didn't have to be up at stupid-o'clock
this morning I stayed up late last night playing round.
I've been messing around with some
ideas for a wall hanging for Halloween
and have been wanting to do something fun
with the Authentique halloween line.
And this is what I came up with...

Products used: Shadowbox frame - Kaiser Craft; Patterned paper - Authentique;
Stamps - Pink Paislee; Embossing powder - Zing;grungeboard - Tim Holtz; vine - Prima; flowers - Prima;
spider - Pottery Barn; black spray paint; Ingvild Bolme Prima distresser; stickles; mist - Tattered Angels

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend
and Halloween! Enjoy all the treats! :)

A quick card & frame

Thought I would get an early
start on Thanksgiving this year by
making some cards to send to family.
I've only been saying every year that I
want to make cards and send them....
needless to say...this is the 1st year ;)

I love the new Orchard Harvest Spellbinders
and couldn't wait to use them....
ONLY I had to wait because I then found the
matching stamps to the dies at Unity Stamps! :)

Got the stamps yesterday and just had
to play with them...was driving home
from work praying that we wouldn't
have a TON of homework tonight...
WE DIDN'T!!!! Yeah me!

Products used: Kraft Cardstock-Paprertrey Ink; Patterned Paper - Echo Park Victoria Gardens;
Brown paper - Basic Grey; Stamps - Unity; Dies-Orchard Harvest Spellbinders;
Stickles; Copic Markers; ribbon - Michaels; jute

And I finally finished the frame that I started
to go with the shadowbox frame that I previously posted.
I had made that with a album and I wanted to make
something for her husband-to-be also...
He told me that this picture that I used
is one of his favorites so I coordinated with the
things that I made for her and made him a frame for
his desk.

Products used: Frame - Michaels; Patterned Paper - Pink Paislee Nantucket;
Cardstock - Papertry Ink; Punch - EK Success; Ink - Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dyed;
Fasteners - Tim Holtz; Flower - Pink Paislee Mistable Flower; Mist - Tattered Angels; Bling - Zva

Overall a pretty simple frame to do and makes a great gift!

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy the rest of your week! :)

So friends of ours are getting married this coming weekend...
And for two of their shower gifts I decided to get crafty!

And I took these as I was FLYING out the door to the shower...

Bling - Zva & Want 2 Scrap; Chipboard label - Want 2 Scrap; Chipboard - Pink Paislee;
Mists - Ranger & Tattered Angels; Stencils - Prima; Punches- EK Success & Martha Stewart;
Stamps - Pink Paislee; Ribbon - Pink Paislee, Papertrey Ink, Various)

As I have mentioned before...
I LOVE this time of year!
I love that the weather cools
off just a touch (I'm in Florida...it ONLY cools off a touch!)
I LOVE decorating the house for fall
and for Halloween and I still love
taking Jake to the pumpkin patch...
even if he gripes the whole way there...
I'm not even sure if he will go next year... :(
He is growing up so fast and everyday there
is just ONE more thing that he is getting to old to do...
Or that just isn't COOL to do...
So I am trying to enjoy it for as long as it lasts...

Jake was not thrilled to be taking pictures...

I just thought this pumpkin was so cool looking :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week :)
